Shinju's Workshop is about fun, craftsmanship, making friends and loving what you do!
Hello all, I am Livia and I am the main founder of Shinju's Workshop. I am now helped from time to time by my fiance Gabriel, who accompanies me as well to some events I attend.
In 2007 I wore a homemade costume to Romania's first anime convention. The bite from that "bug" resulted in nearly 30 costume commissions over the next two years, establishing me expertise in fabric work. After that, disciplines fell like dominoes. I have since tackled and tried to master a gamut of methods and materials: plastics, foams, wood, resins, leather, and of course fabrics.
I try to keep active in the whole cosplay spectrum:
- In competitions such as: EuroCosplay Championship in 2012,London; Dreamhack Bucharest (First Place 2013 and 2014); Assassin's Creed Black Flag competition (by gryonline.pl and NVIDIA) (First Place 2013)
- In organizing cosplay competitions at: - EuroCosplay Championship (Europe/London) - East European Comic Con (Bucharest).
- Holding workshops at: Otaku Festival (Bucharest), AnimeCon (the Netherlands), Aniventure (Bulgaria), Mondocon (Hungary), Asian Culture Party (Portugal).
- Guest Judging at: Mondocon, Cosplayer Expo (Hungary), Aniventure (Bulgaria), Kontakt (Turkey), European Cosplay Gathering at Japan Expo in Paris (2014), Antwerp Con (Belgium, 2015), Asian Culture Party (Portugal, 2015), Dreamhack Summer (Sweden, 2015).
In my years of experience in costuming and propmaking with both private collectors and professional companies, I cannot help but try to put my best work and talent into any challenge I receive!
